It looks like a nightmare if you happen to be upriver. I haven’t personally experienced that – I’ve only seen videos, but the bears sure seem to love it!

Many salmon that swim from the ocean to spawn in fresh water look the same. In the Seattle area, there are plenty of places to go view zombie salmon that just hover in one area after spawning and then suddenly stop and lay motionless on the banks as they die.

King salmon do this too. It looks pretty gnarly when their eyes fall out.
