This is funny, but I used to do this on purpose in my 20s when a girl I wasn’t interested in tried to flirt with me. Eventually, after enough apparent obliviousness from me, they’d give up and move on with no hurt feelings or drama. It’s not the most adult way to handle things, and it’s now how I’d handle things now, but it worked.
One thing that helped sell the illusion was my genuine obliviousness with other women. If my wife ever dies, I’m gonna be single forever.
