      Ratana is a Maori church in New Zealand, Maori being indigenous people of mainland New Zealand, idk if these men are debating specifically Ratana beliefs or general Christian beliefs.

      there are so many more photos of the debate between these two, i love how the fella with the hat always has a smile on, looking all smug, idk the timeline of the debate, but looks like a crowed forms around the two men? and some third fellas join in? and another photo has a fourth person talking with the three, looks pretty funny to me.

      i like the photos Ans Westra took, she has taken heaps more photos of everyday Maori life, and unlike most other photographers of Maori she shows how actual Maori lived at the time, not dressing them up in traditional cloths or making them hold spears or clubs or trying to make Maori look like “old time Maori” or anything like that. (at least i havent seen one of her photos where she done that)
