My mother tried to smoke “Eve”, a competing brand that was also marketed to women, but in the early- to mid-70s. She really just bought the cigarettes to get the flowered-paper packages. After a couple of weeks, she got tired of smoking, and stopped. It was the only time that I knew her to smoke…tobacco (the Devil’s lettuce was a different thing).
