    1. Good job internet stranger! Next level: take a walk around the block when you feel like it 🙂

I feel for you, I was the same way. Thank God I fixed it because sleeping like that stressed me out.

Some background: I work 40 hours a week while also being a full time Computer Science major. Most of my waking hours are spent either at my job or locked to my computer desk to catch up on school including on the weekends. I know it’s bad to let it get this filthy. I posted here as also kind of an accountability thing because it is possible to get dirty quickly and cleaned quickly too. Now that I’m on break from uni, I did a deep clean to start the year right.

Idk if anyone cares lol just in case if yall are wondering how it gets so bad so quickly haha, it’s a side effect of being stressed and literally not having energy or time during school.

There’s a sub dedicated to messy rooms and sometimes being cleaned, I can’t remember what it is called though. However, congrats on cleaning. It’s easier to clean as you go along so that you don’t have a build up of mess afterwards

    5. I had issues with cleaning at some points of my life. If you ever have a friend or family member who seems to be struggling financially, offering them like 40 bucks monthly or biweekly to help you clean could save your sanity.

    6. That must feel nice!

I have a couple of chronic illnesses & chronic pain and most days don’t feel like making my bed. I do it almost every single day just because of the pleasure it gives me to walk in and see it orderly. But I definitely get how things get out of order quickly and it happens so fast you don’t see it snowballing until it’s too late. I think most of us can relate to that.

    7. The best part about doing this is you realize how it takes a lot less time than you think to keep your room clean.

I’m in the middle of cleaning mine — proper, Marie-Kondo-style deep clean and tidy — so hopefully it can stay cleaner in the future. Congrats on the clean room 🙂

    9. A popular video from 2014 shows an US Navy admiral telling graduates to “make your bed”. At first I was like psht.

But one day I decided to make my bed after I got up. Came home from work and thought, huh, the room looks nice. Next day I made the bed again. Now I do it every morning and am glad to have a made up bed and better looking bedroom.

    10. **Rules:**

      2) **Never** put any clothes on the floor they go in the closet, drawers or laundry hamper.

      3) Wash your laundry once a week (pick a day and time and stick to it).

      4) Change your sheets every two weeks (pick a day and time and stick to it).

      5) Dishes, glasses, food packages, etc go to the kitchen after use. (They do not spend the night in the bedroom)

A 2-months break? You deserved that mini chaos, but wow, what a transformation!

    12. Having a clean space is about keeping on top of it.

You need to change your daily habits or it will be back like the first pic in a week.
