    1. The discussion is not about Christianism vs Islam, its about extremism vs not extremism. Just look at how Trump, the heritage foundation, and all of his cabinets speak of “third world” countries yet they can’t help but try to imitate and implement the worst parts about those countries, just with the Christian label wrapped onto them.

    2. Trump doesn’t like touching Bibles because he gets a weird burning sensation in his blood when he does that.

    3. What’s the problem with using the Quran? Him swearing an oath on the bible would be like him swearing on someone else’s mother.

He tried to warn New York that what? He is a Muslim? Everyone already knew that. They didn’t care, they just want to be able to pay the rent. Unlike Benny not everyone gets a boat load of money from the Russians to do their propaganda.

if swearing in on one religious text is bad then swearing in on all religious texts are bad. i’d prefer no one use their religion when holding themselves accountable to public office but what can ya do? you can understand that the bible isn’t any better than a quran to people who don’t want either of them being used and you can shut up

Like… Do we not remember what it means? Why they place a hand on the Bible?

It’s because it’s them swearing on a holy text that they care about, that they stake their lives and their faith and beliefs to. That if they go back on their word, it has consequences them spiritually, not just legally.

Wouldn’t you want Mamdani to swear in with his hand on the book that actually means something to him? So that when he says the oath it actually bears weight on him as a person?

    7. No one should give a shit what religion any individual follows. It’s only the fascist minded that want to force you into practicing one brand of religion.

    8. They tried to “warn” us by posting planes flying into the World Trade Centers and saying we’re in for another 9/11.

Imagine selling yourself publicly as the ultimate American patriot but totally forgetting about the Freedom of Religion this country was based on.

Benny can file his warning right up his ass… not all of us are racists and it doesn’t make a lick of difference what book he touches to swear in….

As he is a muslim I see no issues.
Besides the bible and Quaran are the same in many aspects and basic story just written by diffrent groups anyways. Also coukd not give a shit long as this guy follows laws and works for everyones wellbeing.

    12. The proper response to these people is “So?” and no further engagement. They want a defensive rise out of people to play victim

    13. Conservatives neeeeed this. They need white people to be afraid. Not of pedophiles and billionaires controlling the economy, no they love them.

This is such an interesting turn of events for me.

25 years ago, nobody would ever have believed that this could happen…

I don’t know that guy but every time I see him pop up he’s afraid of something 😂

Wonder how that second slide relates to his recent admission that he’s “probably not Heaven bound..” 😇

    17. Funny.  The non-conservatives and globe in general tried to warn America about Trump but here we are with convicted criminals being pardoned like crime ring thanksgiving turkeys.

    18. Thomas Jefferson used his own writings, “The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth” which became “The Jefferson Bible”, Theodore Roosevelt used nothing, John Quincy Adams swore on a book of law, Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in on a Roman Catholic missal of JFK’S (though he himself was not Catholic), Tulsi Gabbard used the Bhagavad Gita, Robert Garcia a Superman Comic, Jon Ossof swore in on a historic Hebrew scripture owned by an Atlantan Rabbi and Civil Rights Leader, Keith Ellison the first Muslim congressperson swore in on Jefferson’s personal copy of the Qur’an, and all of it doesn’t matter because if you swear in on something that doesn’t matter to you, what’s the point?

It’s amazing how many right wing clowns like Benny get paid big bucks to type stupid, divisive shit on the Internet every day.

    20. If I’m ever elected, swear me in on the gold foil edition of the Ocarina of Time guide.

    21. So silly that religious book used upsets so many. Personally, I don’t care because swearing on any book is as valid as using a vegetable or shoelace. If you’re gonna crime a book won’t stop you
