After uniting Vietnam, Pol Pot thought it’d be a good idea to invade Vietnam.

Vietnam deposed Pol Pot’s ass, and in doing so, the Cambodian genocide came to an end.

Unfortunately, Vietnam ended up in their own Vietnam as many rebel groups fought against them and the installed regime.

The war was bloody; 15 to 30 thousand Vietnamese soldiers are believed to have been killed; however, the statistics are a contradictory mess. Vietnamese General Tran Cong Man stated that at “least 15,000 soldiers died and another 30,000 were wounded in the ten-year-long Cambodian campaign”—the accuracy of this is debated.

    2. We could also mention the 250,000 South Vietnamese who died fighting the NVA and NLF as “Vietnam’s own Vietnam”
