Democracy is good if the people I like win. If the people I like don’t win then democracy does not work and the government isn’t legitimate so we have to take them out of the office.

    2. you see, democracy is really only a question of perspective

      “Anakin, chancellor Palpatine is evil!”

“From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!”

As opposed to now, when they support brutal dictatorship as long as they flatter their president and promise lucrative mining/oil deals.

Oh, and as long as they wear a suit and say “thanks”.

Can’t wait for this post to flop because this post provides a valid criticism of the US

I think the times they actually tried that it failed so spectacularly that they even coined a phrase for it.

“One man, One vote, One time.”

    6. Welcome to foreign policy of every country that’s ever existed. Only care about expanding your influence and power. Regardless of the government in power of the other country.

    7. I feel like if other countries didn’t have a similar level of technology, the US would’ve been annexing these states lefts and right

Let’s play out a scenario in the Cold War. One side is allowed to work with unsavory governments, employ covert action, and subvert adversary regimes through a range of distasteful tricks. The other must keep its hands clean and fully abide by its professed ideology with complete transparency.

Which of these parties do you suppose wins?

    9. I mean, that’s basically what we did during WW2 by supporting the Soviets’ fight against Germany.

The horrors of Pax Americana were peanuts in comparison to the horrors of the world without Pax Americana
