I used to occasionally hand-feed cucumber slices to a plecostomus catfish much like this one.
It also liked the freeze dried cubes of tubifex worms that were so highly recommended for the other types of fish in my tank.

So, it’s a possum fish.

I have one of these that does the same thing. I named him Maverick from Top Gun.

I once had a Pleco like this. He’d swim upside down to eat a cube of freeze-dried tubifex worm. What an awesome fish. I had that thing for 10 years.

That’s a pleco, those guys act like dramatic little dogs after they grow up a bit.
Always sold as “great cleaners” when there like 1/2 an inch, but after growing to 12” they’re a hassle to keep up with and produce more waste than they filter. They also eat like anything that fits in there mouth; can survive 2 days out of water and are enormously invasive because they can survive in fresh OR salt water.
I like my bristle nose boi his names Fred

My beta fish at work does this. It likes to sit on the bottom of the tank or in the plants. Had some co workers watch him while I was on vacation and they told me they panicked multiple times they had killed him while I was gone

Pfft, typical Plecostomus, amirite?
“Why are you sleeping?!”
It’s probably begging for treats.
