Every time I refill my adderall the pills look different. Saved these from 4 different refills. Same med, all different pills.

    1. This has happened to me so many times with multiple medications. It’s seems like the pharmacy constantly changes which manufacturer they use. It makes it harder for me to keep track of what is what is in my pill case when they’re constantly changing.

    2. Not supposed to be different, yet one of those sumbitches gives me the worst cottonmouth.  A different one makes me super on-edge.

it’s just the manufacturer. the neon green capsules was my favorite when i was on adderall xr it was the only one that i didn’t have really shaky hands for

    4. It should be legally required for a pharmacy keep a patient on a specific brand of psycho meds (I cannot think of the full word rn correct me plz) because brands aren’t required to have the EXACT amount and thus it ends up on an awful cycle of crashing because they have 5% less than I actually need to function. And the mechanism in which it deposits into your body can vary wildly too, like the osmosis ones for concerta. Without it I crash hard. it’s bs.

    5. I am pretty sure Adderall has gone through shortages in the US. Could be why it is not just one manufacturer

    6. Different manufacturers most likely. Very common for a pharmacy to have more than 1 manufacturer in stock. 4 of the same pill from different manufacturers is an oddity.

    7. I take these as well. I’ve never had the one on the right but the football shaped ones and soooooo much better the round boi. E111s almost never break along the scores, even with a knife and they’ll disentregrate in your pocket from just a little moisture. I can break the footballs into quarters with my fingers.

Those square white ones are the worst…they don’t work and give me horrible anxiety.

    9. If you get an erection that lasts more than four hours, it’s time to start asking questions.

Worst of all is, it makes a difference. Yes, the active ingredient is the same in all of them, quite possibly the exact same amount. And yet, differences in filler material, manufacturing process, can make it so it works better or worse, while pharmacists pretend its the exact same thing and will work just the same.

    11. Always fun when this comes up when giving hospital patients their pills (especially in psychiatry).

„Yesterday I took two long white pills, and today you‘re giving me four round yellow ones! What‘re you giving me?“

„The same dosage as yesterday; the pharmacy deduced that this week it was cheaper to send us 2 boxes of 20mg instead of 1 box with 40 mg, and its a different manufacturer. I promise it‘s the same.“

„I won‘t take anything that‘s not two long white pills!“

It always gets resolved by me getting the package and showing it to them, and then hearing about why medicine has to be so complicated, and them insisting they aren‘t paranoid (even though many of them are paranoid schizophrenics).

    12. Adderall and nearly all other amphetamines are on perpetual shortage, so pharmacies take whatever manufacturer they can get. Source: me, a pharmacist.

    13. A person working in pharmacy here! What you see is different brands of the same product and active substance. When a new med is invented, there is always a period protecting the inventor, allowing them to propagate their product. But after that period passes, the formula must released to prevent overpricing and exclusive rights for health. You’re getting variations based off current price and availability.
