    1. >It’s an unmanned U.S. Navy PETT (Polyurethane Towed Target) — a radar-reflective target used in live-fire training for ships and helicopters. They’re usually towed behind remote RHIBs and recovered afterward, but some break loose or aren’t immediately retrieved. The large orange color, metal “sail,” and bucket are intentional for visibility and radar tracking.

My ass would have been hitching a ride on that boat the moment I heard “Navy Practice Target”.

    3. They’ve been doing a ton of drills off the coast of LA. Container ships have been rerouting around the drills.

    4. A: its cool that you can just call the coast guard

B: the coast guard is so fucking useful

C: you would never catch me paddle boarding that far into the ocean

Don’t let King Hegseth see this, or he’ll drop a Cruise on it, just to make sure…

    6. Hey, Navy, Coast Guard, paddle boarder. Ultimately, everyone did the right thing. Good enough for me.

Well, maybe the Navy could clean up after themselves, but hey.

    7. Is there not a biodegradable target they can use? Just blasting shards of plastic into the water doesnt seem great..

So cool sheriffs show up for junk that a YouTuber found but told me to go fuck myself when my engine blew 💀

I am sooooo uncomfortable watching this video. So much water, and a tiny paddle board. Gaaahhhh!

The Coast Guard are real homies. They towed my fam back to the harbor at midnight after a motor issue. Thanks Mustang II

I am absolutely going to insist on being called ‘Captain’ every time I go paddleboarding now

    12. The whole Video gives me the creep. The deep water, this liminal looking boat, the camera perspective.

As soon as I seen that white thing i figured it wasn’t a people raft. I was thinking some kind of radar for weather or waves or something
