I’ve argued variations on this theme for years now. Trump gives people permission to be less than perfect, less than good, even less than mediocre. Anyone who says we need to aim higher is the enemy.

I’ve been thinking about that a lot over the last few years, how Trump used his visibility and celebrity to set a bad example, to give people a feeling of permission to be their worst selves.

Meanwhile, the left is falling apart, their news networks are losing their ratings, their states are caught in huge fraud schemes, and they don’t know how to stop any of this. Us stupid Republicans are just watching in wonder.

Which is why the MAGA voters were so surprised when it didn’t start raining high paying jobs they required no experience or education. They were told that immigrants were taking all the jobs and honestly believed that a bunch of great jobs would be freed up when those immigrants were deported.
Lots of deportations later and no jobs. Quite the opposite. They were lied to, but are still too slavishly loyal that they would rather twist themselves in mental knots finding a way to blame “the libs” instead of admitting that they swallowed a load of BS with a smile on their faces.

This sums it up perfectly

True that. Also MAGA = Make it Make Sense Again (to the first pass of the unexamined mind).
