    1. Yeah, it probably never happened. Chinese Confuceans historians had a beef against women and against Buddhism. So a buddhist female emperor was anathema for them.

      Wu Zetian suffered the same treatment than Hatshepsout, Theodora, Catherine the Great and other women in position of power.

      The historians of that time were biased we don’t if it’s true or not mostly because, she was a woman, a buddist and empress from past dynasty…for some reason Chinese historians hate their past rulers to justify their new ruler .
