Who is Richard Grenell, and why does his opinion matter about anything?

aren’t these the same people who boycott / protests shows and places because they are “too woke”. But when the same happens to Trump, they get pissy and whiny and says “the arts is for everyone”.
I got whiplash with this hypocrisy

If Redd signed a contract with the Kennedy Center then he has no contract with the Trump Kennedy Center.

This is really going to encourage America’s top talent to perform there.

Now they care about the Arts?

I really can’t think of a better example of how dumb and entitled the mindset of MAGA is.
“the arts are for everyone” means you have to play the trump center. They worked so hard to make sure that wedding cakes aren’t for everyone because a baker should have the freedom to refuse service to certain people.

No, the arts are only now for Trump’s billionaire criminal buddies.

Can one of the few remaining journalists with a spine ask Richard how strong-arming his name onto a building is “supporting the arts”.
snark_enterprises on
Trump doesn’t support the arts though, he’s just trying to co-opt it to boost his own ego. That’s why he had to add his name to the Kennedy center instead of just allocating more funding. Any normal person sees that, lol.

You really can’t force someone to perform. Even if the contract can force them to show up, they can half-ass it or tell knock-knock jokes all evening.

Just do it as followers do claim religion was the reason you couldn’t do it. Hell they tried to pardon that lady that wouldn’t give gay people marriage license.

Dude. It’s not _the left_ that’s boycotting the arts, it’s _the fucking **arts**_ that are boycotting you!

In his contract I doubt you find the new name of the venue now. So the contract is null and void.

We’re not boycotting the Arts, we’re boycotting *Trump* you disingenuous clod.

Supporting the arts does not mean you place yourself at the head of the table and rename an institution that’s been in place for decades. Create your own, and stop riding on other people’s accomplishments.

Let’s see his contract. You can’t just arbitrarily sue him because you’re angry.

Hmm. If the President’s Special Envoy sues, and the defendant cites the pedophilia or other felonies of the President in defense, is there a chance of getting some kind of discovery going?

Putting your name on a building is NOT supporting the arts.

Plus [he literally canceled the National Endowment for the Arts.](https://www.npr.org/2025/05/03/nx-s1-5385888/sweeping-cuts-hit-nea-after-trump-administration-calls-to-eliminate-the-agency)
Not only does he not support the arts, he’s actively removing their existing support.
Changing its name in violation of established law. Congress established the “John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts” not the executive.
