This was an age where domestic violence was considered humor in an advert.

I don’t understand why all the guys wanting arrow shirts for Christmas could lead the man to this unless he’s got underlying issues. Poor guy.

Can Santa actually die, though?
I feel like he’s just being a ‘lil dramatic over some Christmas stress……;)

Ok this is fucked up but I also don’t get it. Why is Santa killing himself? Why do the shirts save him?

In the 1930s a newspaper comic showed Mickey Mouse almost committing suicide over Minnie. I’m not really sure what was going on in this era where shooting yourself was considered light-hearted comedy

Holy shit wtf
Was this pre or post JC Leyendecker lol
Edit: picked up my jaw and noticed it was 1947 so way past Leyendeckers legendary [Arrow Collar Man](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrow_(brand)) advertisements
Wow, that’s certainly something.
Wow, a surprisingly extreme ad agency choice!!

I feel like Arrow has some of the worst ads even for that time frame.
“And I heard him exclaim as he rode out of sight, ‘Merry Christmas to all…’ BLAM!!!”
