People forget the sufferings of what people with disabilities went through before we had rights….now people want to take our rights away

    1. Maybe… However emptying the institutions on to the streets and leaving these people out in the cold did not work out well.

To even suggest the amount of assistance given to people with disabilities is “too much” is laughable.

The ADA was only signed into law in 1990 FFS

    3. I mean. You can still see this, it’s not like this was “solved”. Go to undeveloped/developing countries and you’ll see people on little wooden trollies used for moving, and no legs, aggressively begging for money in the streets.
Blind children working in factories, disabled people living on the streets until one day they don’t wake up.
Even in developed countries if you are disabled in a way that doesn’t fit into the system you’ll end up homeless, and the majority of disabled people would not be able to survive even with government help without the help of family and friends.

The same people who complain incessantly about helping people, complain about rising crime rates and homeless people.

    4. I’m glad I’m not going home to celebrate Christmas this year. I can’t be happy and festive right now. Too many people are scared and suffering.
