What is amazing to me is the timeline from 1900 to the 1960s. Sixty years before, and even twenty or fifteen years before, it would have landed her in jail, or thought of as a prostitute and treated as such – including fines to be paid. Women achieved a huge amount of liberation thanks to their efforts, and those of their allied men, in as much time as there is between this picture and today. Culturally speaking, that’s a fascinating amount of change in such a short time.

She blended the mod 1960s style with a more natural and carefree attitude. Her fashion color palette was brown earthy tones that were more popular in the 1970s. She adhered to 1960s trends but had her own take, a more carefree approach but still being trendy. She definitely helped set the tone for the 70s in her own way.
