I used to live in the UAE and this was very normal. I suspect most hot countries still put up snow themed decorations for Christmas because that’s just what we expect the Christmas theme to look like.

Correlating snow with Christmas has always been odd to me because only around 30% of all land is ever covered by snow at any given moment and an even lower percentage is covered in snow during Christmas season and 66% of people have never even seen it before.
