One thing you learn in medic school (actually EMT school also) is that no one is dead until they’re warm and dead.

Theres a saying in EMS (Emergency Medical Services) when it comes to hypothermic patients:
“Nobody is dead until they are warm and dead.”
There are examples of people surviving severe hypothermia against all odds and essentially coming back to life.
