Would You Rather: Delhi Edition. Be on the ground in the cancer fog, or be 20 stories up in a crumbling Indian tower likely built with questionable standards.

Good news: nobody has asthma or COPD in Delhi.
Bad news: it’s because they all died.

That is some Blade Runner level shit, but not surprising. When I flew into Hyderabad some years ago, we landed at about 10 PM local, and the lights of the city were not visible below at all while the airport lights finally became more defined than just a dull glow (which wasn’t even visible for most of the descent) less than 30 seconds before touchdown. Air quality in India’s cities is unbelievably bad much of the time.
Apparently the minister of Delhi said ‘AQI is a kind of temperature’ So, people are sharing post apocalyptic looking photos (real) & making jokes.

I remember seeing a delegation of Indian government officials respond to their criticism of lacking any initiatives to address climate change and they basically said “The West got rich off dirty fuel so they cant tell us that we aren’t able to now”.
Delhi is sitting at 700-900 even and all surrounding cities are sub ~150. Is the crop burning residue magnetic to Delhi only? This AQI is Delhi’s problem itself. And ask BJP to fix it rather than spraying water next to the AQI monitors.

Okay so I know when you go outside you probably wear some sort of mask or something, but how do you make sure the air in your home is clean(er)? Air filters? Just keep the windows shut? Surely they’re not breathing this shit in 24/7…right?

Obviously love is not in the air in Delhi, India.
Looks like fog with dust particles suspended in it.
Honest question, how did it get this bad?
Good to be on the top floor.
Good. Now all the rapists can grope each other in the fog……
I thought this post was about a fire in the first moment
Y’all are cooked, literally.
AQI has been constantly 500 for 3 days now. I think the sensor can’t sense any higher.
Is this from fires? Or is it standard Delhi pollution?
Great news! I’m assuming higher AQI is better. /s
Is this normal or really bad right now? I’ve dealt with 320 due to a wildfire and it was terrible. Can’t imagine this
We get it, you vape.
Absolutely not. The gingerbread towers look like they’re gonna crumble.
But remember you need to drink out of paper straws because we need to save the environment
It’s over half-thousand!
Love the cracked “look” on the columns when moving the camera around 👌
it’s krazy high now … cars are driving in the dark.
That’s the Air Quality Index
I didn’t know what AQI stood for but assumed it had something to do with the air.
The scale only goes to 500 and anything over 300 is considered hazardous
Damn! Thats bad
India is a horrible plane to live.
That’s the Mist.

I cant believe some of these comments still playing the blame game.
Check the AQI yourself: https://www.iqair.com/au/air-quality-map?zoomLevel=6&lat=31.62&lng=74.876512
