Yes of course, more guns solves the problem! Lets ignore the fact an unarmed man tackled and disarmed one of the gunmen.

    1. And the guy who disarmed one of the sickos was an “unarmed” man. 🤣

Australia has had 2 mass shooting this year.

America has had, what, ~360? GTFOH.

How many times has someone in the US with a gun stopped a mass shooting? Like you would think it’s a common occurrence.

    3. PatriarchPonds on

‘Now’ sitting ducks? This being why this is rare in Australia, and an everyday shrug in the USA?

      Liars, cynics and charlatans.

    4. ConsciousReason7709 on

Yes, because people at a beach are gonna have guns just sitting around they can defend themselves with. Stupid f*ck.

    5. Nothing like the country that averages a mass shooting every day telling a country that had 6 in the last 6 years what they’re doing wrong. Maybe Americans can just offer thoughts and prayers and sit this one out.

    6. It’s been nearly 30 years since the Port Arthur shooting brought upon the NFA. In that time, Wikipedia reports there had been 26 mass shootings in Australia up until Bondi.

America can achieve that in a *month*. Piss off Don.

    7. Time to blow some american’s tiny mind.

The shooters were a father / son duo. The father held a firearms license and bought the weapons legally. What?!?! You can buy guns in Australia?!?!?! Yes…. yes you can.

Unfortunately it is now proveable that he was not a right and proper person to have owned firearms, and the fact that his son was pinged by ASIO as a potential risk means we will likely see adjustments to the laws so that near relations are considered in granting of firearms licenses.

On the plus side, we didn’t get the American mass shooting weapon of choice in the form of an AR15 or other centerfire semi-automatic rifle, as even though the father held a license there was no way he would have been able to buy a weapon of that class.

    8. This sort of posts are sponsored the American gun lobby. They don’t care about people. They just want the profits selling guns in Australia would give them.
      Cunts!

This BS makes my blood boil. What a horrible day in Australia, thankfully, their decisions to ban many types of assault rifles after the 1996 Port Arthur Massacre GREATLY reduced these horrendous moments. Guns in the hands of citizens can turn a depression or mental health issue, or just anger/ rage getting out of control, into something exponentially worse.

A mid-range AR-15 costs about $1000 in America, available at any gun show. In Australia a clean unregistered AR-15 costs around $15,000.

Conservatives really believe that if everyone was armed, mass shootings wouldn’t happen because instantly everyone would identify the bad guy and coordinate their fire on the right person. You know, as opposed to absolute chaos where no one knows who’s a “bad” shooter and who’s a “good” shooter. Also, police arriving on the scene would make that decision instantly and not shoot the “good” shooters.

    11. Yes, follow the lead of the country with 40k+ gun deaths per year, highest per capita in the world. Maybe the USA really is the shining light in the Darwin Awards…what a moron, just like JD Vance.

    12. Anyone notice how one Australian with no gun charged the killer, but an army of police officers with guns in America did nothing to save children in a school? Wild, Australians are definitely more manly than Americans any day.

    13. So, if the answer is guns for everyone, then how is it that all the responsible gun owners in the US are stopping zero of the 400+ mass shootings we average per year?

    14. Admirable-Sink-2622 on

      Fuck off Don.

Australia has had – what – 3 mass shootings in 30 years vs over 300 so far in 2025 in the US.

Willful ignorance or too stupid to live? 🤔

    15. As an Aussie, I say this to any and all americans who want to try and make claims about gun laws and Australia

Sit the fuck down and shut up, you do not have the right to speak at this table when you weekly mass shootings and this is the second one to happen in nearly 30 years here

    16. ChristianMcYACffrey on

This brings the grand total up to 64 dead Australians via mass shooting this century. About the same amount as Americans in the last 78 days.

If only we had more guns to keep us safe.

Oh yes let’s all take tips on effective ways to deal with mass shootings from fucking Americans. They’ve got it allllll figured out. I mean they’ve had more mass shootings than days this year, and have not had a good guy with a gun solving the problem YET, but I’m sure only a few thousand more schoolchildren have to die before it all evens out.

Australian here (who works with firearms) DonKeith can go fuck himself. Our country became immeasurably safer after the gun amnesty post Port Arthur – there’s a reason this is the worst event in nearly 30 years.
