Crossing guards are amazing. I saw a crossing guard stop some children to let me pass, and one of the boys was on his phone. The guard literally opened his arms and blocked the kid from walking in front of me in my minivan. I was astonished and thanked him for stopping the kid and went on my way.

My very Scottish mum (added to give you an idea of her quick temper 😂 ) got fired as a crossing guard for smashing her stop sign down on a guys hood when he tried driving thru while kids were still in the cross walk.
Everyone was on her side except the school, and the dudes insurance company.
She didn’t care and said she’d do it again.

Ope, of course this is Houston. Yes, this man is a hero for doing it, but he shouldn’t have to. The state fucks us over so hard with funding for everything from education to infrastructure. Also, I will forever try to make it more known, but the chemical plants around Houston have altered our brain chemistry. We are more aggressive on the roads and in general because of it. No one can convince me otherwise.

As you could imagine , all the drivers behaved accordingly.
