Wooden comb, 14th century Egypt [849×762]

The embellishment in the center, which includes a 'fleur-de-lys', was created using a stamping device. An inscription says: 'Eternal Glory and Prosperity'. These sort of inscriptions were common. Another Egyptian comb from this period contains the inscription: 'I am a comb made to comb none but the beautiful.'
