Kinda looks like how the best way to pack a rope in a bag is to just toss it in there in a line instead of coiling it up

My parents used to have a cash register that used those cartridges. They were such a pain to deal with whenever the ribbon got twisted up. I would get ink all over my fingers trying to fix it.
