In the French town of La Ciotat, on December 11, a woman drove into a public swimming pool after confusing the gas and brake pedals. The 38-year-old woman and her 5-year-old daughter were both unharmed.

That’s really frightening to be in that car, and it’s fortunate that everyone came out of it unharmed. The car in the pools almost looks unreal.

    2. So… we should update how you get a driver license…. It is unprecedented that you mistake a pedal. At least say that something happened that caused the gas pedal to be triggered. I couldn’t imagine this happening to me and my defense is… I forgot which pedal did what….

    3. To be fair those pedals are really confusing. I mean, there’s two of them. One makes the car go, the other makes it stop.

Who can keep track of all that?

    4. So how the F do you get that car out of the pool? Destroy the side of the building so they can bring in a crane?

      – Cost of totaled vehicle: $38,000
      – Cost of window and frame: $1000
      – Cost to remove car from pool: $4000
      – Cost to drain and repair pool now contaminated with auto fluids: Priceless

I guess the mom has to buy a new car AND pay for the damages to the building

Would not want to be her right now

    7. What is it with French and driving into pools lately? A few weeks ago there was a similar story but the teens died

    8. Sadly the car passed away due to drowning, the paramedics exhausted all efforts in trying to save it, during autopsy it was revealed all cylinders were filled with water. What a tragic end for a sedan.

How does that even happen? I mean even if you confuse the pedals, once you speed up instead of slowing down or stopping, you should realize that you’re doing something wrong and slam on the actual break right? 🤷🏻‍♀️

This sounds French. There is some sort of blend in between peculiar chaos and amusing elegance. I bet she had just met her lover before picking up the kid.

The lifeguard also found the stockings and the fancy lingerie amusing.
