Where other Empires developed their conquered territories for their long-term benefit, Ottoman Empire only exploited conquered lands, until eventually there was nothing left to take from them – after years of plundering.
This kind of national structure couldn’t sustain itself long-term without further conquest, so once the Empire couldn’t aquire new lands to plunder – it started decaying. Eventually it became obsolete and decadent, and this led to its downfall.
