    1. >Why do Americans hate trans people so much?

Americans hate many things they don’t understand. Or are told to be threatened by. Or are different. Or some combination thereof.

Because they’re fucking stupid. Or brainwashed. Or mentally ill. Or some combination thereof.

    2. The entire premise of the pilgrims were based in being bigoted and racist.

      It hasn’t changed.

    3. The current comments are all talking about how the USA hates many minorities and not to focus on the hatred of trans people…

FFS of course the USA hates many minorities, but instead of giving multiple examples or a list or a vague answer they focused their bigoted hatred onto trans people specifically and so we need to counter with awareness and support for trans people and the increasing deadly attacks on them. We can not ignore the atrocities happening to a group of innocent people because other groups are experiencing atrocities too.

The evangelicals hate it so republicans had convince their supporters to appease the church. It’s easier to make up random crap and they believe it. I live in NJ and have yet to see a trans person

There are two plausible answers to this question:

      1. The current administration is completely incompetent and ignorant of the ramifications of their policies and decisions, and thus reveal their bigoted personal views.

      2. The current administration is completely incompetent yet unashamed of their corrupt conduct and thus have no problem with exposing their cruel and malicious intentions.

      It’s one of the two.

    6. A majority of Americans do not hate trans people, nor do they hate gays or lesbians or bisexuals or questioning folks, etc. You have a very small minority that happens to have unilateral power, meaning they control the presidency the courts pretty much, and currently the House and the Senate. Therefore, they and their oligarchs that have installed them, have the biggest megaphone. But again, I repeat the overwhelming majority of Americans do not hate LGBTQ+ people, and unfortunately, the country is getting a black eye abroad with their abhorrent policies.

    7. Because Low IQ people fear and hate what they don’t understand. Rather than learning and asking questions about things. They’d rather make up a bunch of nonsense about some ridiculous sky Daddy saying it’s wrong.
      They’re uneducated sheep.

Because if you give stupid, racist, homophonic white people a fake devil, it distracts them from the real devil.

    9. How are these two things in any way connected? Like, is the justification that all aid workers are trans??

    10. We’ve met a radical 30% take over are country and due to apathy, ignorance, & arrogance we haven’t taken it seriously enough. Also a bunch of people consider “both sides” to be equally bad and radical without any critical thinking behind it.

Because the country has too much religion running politics. Part of me believes Americans don’t deserve free speech or freedom of religion because they can’t handle such liberties.

The US always needs a boogie man to rally against. They tend to choose the most disenfranchised among us.

    13. Please remember to differentiate the American government and the American people.

Our government is currently filled with racist pieces of human shit. The majority of Americans do not feel this way.

    14. Because Putin does. And it’s effective to make older people fall for Putin’s shit.

    15. I’ll take this comment down if it’s considered shameless, but I am Dr. Girod, host of The French History Podcast. For one of our episodes I interviewed Dr. Rachel Mesch about her book on possibly [transgender writers in 19th century Paris](https://www.thefrenchhistorypodcast.com/before-trans-three-incredible-lives-with-dr-rachel-mesch/) Three very famous writers were AFAB but identified as men. It’s a great counter to the argument that transgender people was never a thing in the past. Sorry if this is too much ‘plugging my own stuff’ but as a public historian I like to promote the history of queer people. We also have an episode on the [history of French lesbians](https://www.thefrenchhistorypodcast.com/lesbianism-in-france-with-dr-tamara-chaplin/). At times when the current administration claims queer people are a ‘modern perversion’ I think it’s important to know that we have always existed.

    16. I mean, you are missing the very point of the vote. Trans people are just a scapegoat; the assholes in power take whatever it is they don’t like, make up a flimsy excuse as to how it is connected to woke transgenders, and prohibit it for that reason.
