Fun fact: The 50 BMG round was originally developed to take out light armor vehicles and aircraft

The important factor is the caliber is often just the diameter of the bullet. The length and shape and material are important. The size of the casing correlates to the amount of powder that can be packed in there. That .50 BMG is technically a war crime to use against humans, it’s meant for taking out engine blocks of vehicles two zip codes over

      Fun fact

The 30-06 round is the same exact proportions as the 50BMG, just scaled down.

Two 5mm rounds vs a 12mm round, using their metric measurements it’s easier to understand the size difference.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the circumference of a 223 is the same as a 22…..

    6. My godfather had an M2 BMG when I was a kid. Unfortunately for him the ATF found out. That was a badass weapon, holy fuck loud though

    7. You keep saying you have a 50 bmg, but you don’t specify the rifle. What you got op?

I have armalite AR50a1, also single shot. never shot it tho. Ranges don’t allow it

    8. Slight typo in your description. It’s 5.56 which is in millimeters. That also happens to convert to basically .22 inches.

Obviously it’s a different bullet but the diameters are practically the same.
