Rich people being ignorant doesn’t affect their lives, they can travel wherever they want because they have the resources. Poor people need to get educated to get better jobs that allow them to travel.
For most people, it’s not the travelling that educates people, it’s the education that allows them to travel

Depends on the travels, if those travels lets you learn on whatever you need in life, it might be better than school.
But at most cases, school should be better as it will give you basic educations. Well not everyone applied what they learnt tho

Travel produces a different type of smarts, like but not the same as street smarts or book smarts, there are types of smarts for everyone if they have the means to learn them. Rich people are more likely to have means to learn travel smarts, and so they feel less uncomfortable in new surroundings.
It’s similar to when minorities learn to navigate and survive in rural white communities, only the rich people have far less fear to contend with. There’s a learned skill at adaptation and being comfortable with your uncomfortableness.
When the rich visit poor neighborhoods they can typically still access all of their resources if needed.
The support resources of most poor people are hyper localized and don’t tend to be reachable when they travel.

I mean, I’ve met some dumb as a bag of hammer rich people – usually 2nd generation who inherited their wealth. They aren’t challenged because they have money and they seem to do just fine. But BOY do they make stupid decisions sometimes – mostly because they have zero frame of reference of reality.
But its not about being “well traveled” – its about not having to spend time schelpping to and from work on public transit, not having to switch shifts with someone to take care of a sick kid, not having to go to the grocery store if they don’t want to, count the days until their next check, etc. etc.
I think the main thing that separates rich and poor is the level of stress. Poor have stress thrust on them, rich people create it for themselves.

They claim middle and high school are ineffective.
But it is not about being “well traveled,” it is about being “well connected.” A good (…) school gives you school-friends that, because their parents connected above average, will be more likely closer to, er even become, a person with power.
They will mostly forget all the science, though.

The gap between rich and poor is the 10 richest people in the world could wipe out world hunger, homelessness and provide clean water to the whole world and it wouldn’t make much of a difference to their wealth.
The poor get bombarded with TV charity ads to help wipe out world hunger, homelessness and no access to clean water.

Because most rich people (as in billionaires) were born rich and had a safety net to fall back on.
The average person needs education to become rich (as in millionaire), but you wont become a billionaire by not having education. You just wont become a billionare period, its true for 99.999% of people and I wouldnt gamble my options for a comfortable life on that chance.
