Crows are absolutely smart enough to figure out how to leave. That crow is CHOOSING to stay inside. Nice and warm with enough automatically-replenishing easily-opened food to last a lifetime.

Crows are exceptionally intelligent creatures. I guarantee it’s not trapped. That crow is working a plan.

when working in a thrift store we would get birds trapped all the time… they would die :/ we got a few out successfully but couldn’t save them all

I worked at a grocery store & if any bird was flying around, the night security would shoot it down due to the county health agency or risk a fine. I caught a Starling w/bare hands once 😁.

This is not the house sparrows in the Home Depot. That crow could absolutely figure out how the doors work if he wanted out. He’s moved in and is establishing his new kingdom.

It’s not that unusual. Doors get left open all the time and birds will fly in. Usually they’re attracted to the food of course but if it’s a Walmart or Home Depot or similar they’ll be really attracted to the Bird Seed section.

I once worked at a grocery store that had a bird in there for months. They even hired people to shoot it. They failed miserably. About a week later someone in the meat department got it to land on them (don’t know how) and they released it.
