    1. What a sense of dignity and courage this young man possesses. What a strong and gentle demeanor, to put everyone to tears. Wish I could have heard everything he had to say

    2. Large scale war is coming isn’t it… And there’s nothing any of us can do or say to stop it.

I wonder if the damage we cause this time will even be possible to repair.

I wish my president was more concerned with stopping dictators than appeasing them just so he can get a good business deal.

    4. Wait til you see what Israel has done to thousands of kids while the US sells them the weapons to do it

Damn that kid went through hell

Power to him for having the courage to speak about his experiences

Not that being upset isn’t the logical reaction but these kind of things always feel so ridiculously hypocritical to me like you know this is happening every hour of every day until that war is over right? Why are you shedding tears only for the one kid who talked to you do these ppl genuinely suck at empathy so much they can’t conceptualize suffering that isn’t happening 5 millimeters in front of them?

    7. urgh. more like, what war does to children. fuck war and fuck purposely emotional manipulation + politically motivated post. NOT interesting af

    8. [Here](https://www.medevac-ukraine.com/patient-stories/roman-oleksiiv) shows more pictures of boy and provides the following:

      > The story of Roman Oleksiv from Lviv has become a true symbol of childhood resilience during the war. He was seven years old when, during a Russian missile strike on Vinnytsia in 2022, he suffered 45% internal and 35% external burns, a broken arm, a severed muscle in his right leg, and shrapnel wounds to his head. Tragically, his mother, who was with him at the time of the terrorist attack, was killed on the spot.

      > Roman’s condition was critical, and doctors at the time were cautious about his prognosis. “Doctors weren’t sure that Roma would even make it to Dresden — his condition was that severe,” recalls his father, Yaroslav Oleksiv, about the first days after the missile strike.

      > Roman was urgently transported to Germany by private medical aircraft. After a year of intensive treatment and more than 30 surgeries, the boy was able to stand on his feet again. Today, not only has Roman learned to walk again, but he has also returned to ballroom dancing, a passion he had pursued from an early age.

      > Currently, Roman and his father Yaroslav spend most of their time in Dresden, where the boy is undergoing an intensive course of treatment and rehabilitation at one of Germany’s largest burn centers — Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus Dresden.

      > “We will overcome everything, I am sure of it — it just doesn’t all happen quickly,” says Yaroslav Oleksiv with confidence.

[Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYuH_mv5JI8) is a longer statement from this boy.

    9. This is why Russia must be eliminated. It’s long overdue and of not for oil would have happened a long time ago.

They do nothing but enrich themselves while bringing pain to everyone else. They are a parasite sucking the lifeblood from multiple nations.

The world needs to stand up, accept that war will be difficult and long, and we need to begin dismantling the regime.

    10. That child is 11?! And looks so empty, talking like this is the most normal thing in the world. No child deserves this.

Absolutely unforgivable . Shame on us in the US for playing games with Ukraine. Makes me fucking sick as an American. Slava Ukraini.

    12. And the FOX news channel has allowed for Americans to be ok with this so they can protect a Russian asset that gives the owners control of the US. Our future standing in the entire world is not controlled by freedom but rather is controlled by the ability of a news station to protect those who defend authoritarianism

    13. Fuck Putin, Fuck Trump. I take solace in knowing they are dead someday and not going to a good place.

    14. Saw an article about Ukrainian kids being sent to North Korea, the evil being inflicted by Russia and Putin is hard to grasp. Right out of the most savagely evil acts from history, things you’d wish we’d grown out of as a species.

    15. There is not a single government on the planet at this moment in time that has your best interests in mind and not their own. The world sucks, not Russia, not Ukraine, not the U.S., the WORLD.

The sadness in those eyes.. this is absolutely fucked that the US is siding with the abuser but it’s also logical since we have an abuser in power
