Pity the ironing board is no longer there.
Looks like it’s got a spot for a lightbulb, and timed outlet for the iron, and an iron hanger too.
Being who I am, I’d probably feel compelled to fix it up and make it work again. Get an ironing board for it, and hang an iron in there.
