I haven’t watered it or done anything to it since then and it just continues to grow. I basically have left it alone.
What was a weird “thumb forest” as many redditors pointed out, has now become tall plant stalks about 12-15″ long (that’s 345 imperial droids, for those overseas). It doesn’t seem to be rotting or decomposing. Just growing.
What do you think will happen in another 150 days?

You should plant it, then someday you can have a sweet potato!

I’m not sure why, but I find photos like this disturbing. Like the way that people on r/trypophobia get freaked out by photos of little holes.

Have you named it yet? It seems like you have taken it as a pet. Even gave it an oven mitt for a bed!

Nice, I’ve also thought about investing in the stalk market. Good luck!

That really *is* a sweet potato.

I had a regular potato start sprouting earlier this year. Threw it in my garden to see what happens, and it’s grown more than *anything* I planted all year. My garden is 16’x12′ with a 10′ tall lattice structure surrounding it, the potato vine has nearly covered all of it. All from a single potato.

Pop the slips off stick in dirt. You get new sweet potatoes.

I would remove the slips and put base in water to grow roots. The leaves are edible.
