I remember my older sisters collecting S&H trading stamps. There were booklets to affix the stamps to. When they had collected enough, they could redeem the trading stamps for certain goods. IIRC, my family got a machine that recharged batteries.

My mother saved enough of these to get a TV on a roller stand, black and white of course.
