      Momento mori

Edit: ugh… saw laurel wreath and mind went Roman, not Greek… my bad

    2. The thumbnail looks like a mushroom that will reveal the secrets of the universe and then painfully kill you

    3. A perfect blend of beauty, symbolism and skill, this golden wreath shows why the Greeks were masters of detail.

    4. Looks modern. The ancient examples I’ve seen seem to have much, MUCH thinner leaves and twigs (in fact it seems to have been a point of pride of the goldsmiths back then) and also put A LOT of the foliage on the sides of the head. [Check the following list if you’re feeling diligent.](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Ancient_Greek_gold_wreaths_in_Greece)

The focus on the front with this crown feels very much European and post 18th century.
