      Explanation: John Rabe helped a lot protecting Chinese civilians in the Second Sino-Japanese War. You’d expect him to be evil because he was a Nazi, but evidently he decided to use his diplomatic position for good.

    2. If I saved as many people as he did I wouldn’t mind if people knew that I was technically a nazi. Also “The city of life and death” is a good movie. You should check it out.

      In my opinion he was either a moron or a huge hypocrite. What he did in Nanjing was heroic, but he was still supporting the cruelty happening at home. If his ideological ideals had come to pass, many of the people he saved that day might‘ve died in camps a few decades later.
