What does the atomic bomb have to do with it? I’ve never understood the emphasis on them. The stories from the firestorms have always been more horrific to me (not that getting nuked sounds live a good time.) Getting stuck and cooked in the middle of the street because your feet melted seems to trigger a phobia for me.

Comparing the victims of extermination to victims of sacrifice is an false equivalency.
Japanese civilian were unjustly sacrificed, but I genuinely, fundamentally believed that the atomic bombing is the best outcome in ending the war.
