That story is a myth on the internet with varying reference of the year, but it was definitely before 1910

Of course they did. It’s the Florida of the north!

It’s not like it was a coincidence. They were probably drag racing.

This crash is from Boston and the mythical story you are referring to supposedly happened in 1895 but it believed to be made up by Time magazine in 1967

Have you seen the cars driving around Ohio? It would still be true today

I’m mean the first self propelled vehicle also had the first crash
If you are rich and eccentric enough to be the first guy in the state to buy a car, then you likely know the second rich and eccentric guy who buys a car. You two want to show off to each other and have very little experience driving, odds of crashing into each other become very high. However, this story is still just an internet myth
also, that photo is from 1932 Boston, not Ohio

NO WAY. Those cars are 1920’s and certainly not 1910 open carriage, bicycle tire style.
Edit: I looked it up, and there were 32,210 autos registered in Ohio in 1910. See pg. 10
Wrong…
“The claim that the only two cars in Ohio in 1910 collided is a myth; in reality, the state had far more cars by then, and the story is likely a misremembered version of a similar anecdote from 1895. The 1910 date is incorrect because there were hundreds of thousands of cars on American roads by then.”

Magnets. How do they work?
🤣🤣
I’m betting there was chatter in the crowd about how useless and stupid these new things are and won’t last 🤣

Go here to page 10 and see that this is NOT TRUE.

In 1910 this was the population of Ohio’s largest cities:
– Cleveland: 560,000+
– Cincinnati: 363,000+
– Columbus: 181,000+
– Toledo: 168,000+
– Dayton: 116,500+
– Youngstown: 79,000+
– Akron: 69,000+
Knowing this, does anyone believe there were only 2 registered cars in Ohio at the time 🤣
“By the end of 1910, approximately 468,500 automobiles were registered in the United States.”
Before 1989,in the city of Tulcea,Romania were only 2 cars-
The ambulance and the police car.
One day, they crashed into one anothee
Just guys being dudes
Ohio drivers… Nothing’s changed. There’s a reason they’re called “FOPs” 😬
lol 😂😂🤣🤣
Haha it’s so crazy that I was just thinking about this yesterday.
To be fair, if there were only 2 cars in the state I wouldn’t be prepared for crossing paths with one either
Find a photo, make up a story and title and then get “up”s.
EGGS
FYI – This is not a photo of that event
Sure. Must be true.
Ohio is a myth,
