You would think game devs would take the hint that gold is more valuable than platinum, especially now when gold is almost THREE TIMES as valuable as platinum.

    1. What is the game setting?

Platinum is more rare than gold and has historically been slightly more valuable.

If a lot of electronics are involved (gold being great for electronics) or its is used as an investment instead of just currency, then the value starts to take head and become largely more valuable like it is now.

If the game system currency logic was, this metal is rarer than this other metal and neither are used more than the other for special applications, then platinum makes sense right?

    2. Silver, gold, platinum, bah! Useless but for coin, and the worthless baubles fancied by the weaker sex.

At least irons and coppers have true value to your local smith.

For my part, I accept only adamantium and mithril coinage.
