    1. Ok i’m more impressed in the paper/print quality than anything else. Reciepts they print these days fade if you file them way in a plasic sleeve.

      The $0.51 tax is what gets me. Nowadays it’s like “oh, you want to spend $80 on groceries? We’ll just take $10 for ourselves thanks.

      Compared to other more severe forms of fake inflation like housing, college, and cars, grocery prices really haven’t gone up that much since I was a kid and could remember them (coincidentally about 37 years ago)…

    4. Going shopping with my mother is depressing. She alwayssaays “i remember when Campbell’s soup was 10/$1 every day, not on sale.” So do I, ma. I just try not to think about it.

    5. Today, 50.31 from 1988 would be 141.23. This grocery order today would be higher than that.

      Today in my area one roll of bounty is 4.49, but 0.69 from 1988 would be 1.94 today.

      Really puts things into perspective with grocery and household supplies prices. This sucks.
