I remember seeing the Concorde in flight over London in 1998.

I grew up close to Dulles Airport. The Concord used to land there often and as kids we could here that plane from so far away. We all knew a Concord was coming in for a landing or taking off when we were playing outside. A very cool plane and I miss seeing it fly.

Always keep forgetting how Loud the Concorde was.

Used to work in a school near Heathrow and saw it take off/land many times. Everyone always stopped to watch. It never got old.

Imagine having to hear that crap every morning. Can’t have sex with your woman because a large sonic boom just ruined the moment.

My dad was on the team who maintained all of BA’s Concorde’s from 1991 to 2003, when he left in 2012 his boss gifted him a piece of the titanium turbine blade from one of the Olympus 593’s that powered it

I happened to see one taking off at Heathrow. After what seemed just a few metres it was up in the air.

I was able to watch it take off once out of then Port Columbus, now John Glenn International. It was great being right under it as it took off.

Such a gorgeous airplane, I’m sad that it’s gone. Used to watch (and hear!) Concord fly over London
So glad I was able to see it at LHR a few months ago

Imagine living there, right under the flight path of starting planes at one of Europe’s busiest airports … what a nightmare.

That yellow haze following it is crazy. If you were parked on the road at the end of the runway at take off it would just fall and linger, I did it once in my car and never again. I worked at BA and Concorde was in the hanger beneath our office. I’d walk past it every day to get the elevator and was always stunned by it. I worked in IT over the millennium hour and was given enough points for 2 to fly on it to NY. Sadly it was grounded before I could fly!

We must thank people like him for having A LOT of videos and photos regarding the Concorde. Not that it was a secret or niche aircraft, but it is probably one of the coolest aircraft ever created that we can’t see flying anymore,so having these videos is very nice

Once boarded a 747 for Heathrow > Dulles, found my seat and watched a Concorde pulling up to a nearby gate. Pulled up to the gate at Dulles and watched the same Concorde pulling away from its gate for the return. I guess there’d been a delay in boarding?

We need to develop supersonic flights for passengers again.
The current tech is so old and outdated.

When I was a kid, used to see a Vulcan bomber testing Concorde’s Olympus engine under one wing and its own engine in situ – the aircraft used to turn directly overhead the junior school playground a unique combination of the Vulcan howl and the Concorde roar – more a case of hearing the former and feeling the later.
Think I only ever saw a Concorde in person three times:
1. when a prototype (002?) did a tour of the UK and it flew at low altitude pass near my school,
2. coming into land over the streets of west London when I was in my twenties illuminated by the city below against an ink black sky on a clear night in January 1988
3. taking off whilst I was with a friend by the riverside near Windsor (hello Elfi).

The dad and son remade this a few years ago: https://youtu.be/Ta8zQmtjc1E
They recreated it years later, lol. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta8zQmtjc1E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta8zQmtjc1E)
