How do you imagine that sort of phone call went? “Hi, boss, yeah, it’s me. I can’t come into work today. No, no, I just feel like sucking some dick. Yeah, I’ll be back in as soon as it clears up. Thanks boss”.

The part that is often forgotten about this is that at the same time a LGBTQ group occupied the national board of health and welfare office in Stockholm and they talked directly to the Director general at the time.
That Director general listened to their concerns and message and not long after the laws were changed and homosexuality stopped being classified as a mental illness (the protest happened on the 29th of August and on the 19th of October the new law was out into action).
This is a great example of how protests can work to make real changes in a tolerant and democratic society.

Wow look at that
A small general strike that achieved progress? I wonder if this whole “3% of the population” thing is actually unnecessary… someone call 50501 and tell them the dems lied again!

There is nothing smart about it. There are plenty of illnesses which do not stop you from going to work. Besides, a condition which makes it practically impossible to start a happy family and reproduce normally should be classified as a disorder.
