    1. I think sometimes you can know that your opponent is lying and their guarantee is worthless but still have no choice but to obey them anyway. I figured that’s what happened here.

    2. The biggest mistake in Ukraine history. And also a vivid lesson to especially all small countries out there.

It’s pretty much as useless as the promises the US government made to the indigenous peoples of America.

NATO also promised not to expand towards Russia. It doesn’t excuse anything, but it goes to show how much these promises are worth.

This is such a stupid talking point. No one was ever going to let Ukraine keep nuclear weapons. The US and all of Europe would have sanctioned them into oblivion if they kept them.

They handed it over in a guarantee to never be invaded by the countries who signed the document. So the UK and the US, having not invaded Ukraine since then have kept up their part of that deal. Russia did not.

Anyway Ukraine did not have means to use those nukes, they gave up nuclear weapons they could not use anyway.

NATO promised not to expand eastward, and what do we see? They staged the Orange Revolution on the Maidan, overthrew the current constitutional president, and installed their loyal puppet in his place.
