Used mine to plink groundhogs in cow pastures back in the late 1950s.
Asked permission, and the farmer would pay $1 a groundhog. You had to fill in the burrow when you went out in the field for the groundhog, so I had a folding WW2 entrenching tool.
Fun times! Couldn’t imagine a 14 year old kid today walking down the road with a long gun. Back then, no one gave you a second look.
