Yeah, a covid or bicycle mask with a hoodie does fine without making you the prime weirdo alert suspect

    2. Now with AI powered SmartBlur technology! 👍

Me with a piece of cloth and a strap: 🤣

    3. Seems all they would have to do is get the mask and make a model of its distortions then make an algorithm to deconstruct the distortion. That’s pretty much what lens manufacturers do to try and digitally normalize distortion.

    4. I mean would a regular ski mask or Halloween mask or any mask that’s doesn’t show your face fool AI facial recognition? I could be wrong but you have to see a face to recognize it.

      A) this is an art project to comment on the encroaching surveillance state. B) if this even worked at all it would only work for a while for observers without a lot of technical knowledge. Since the distortion effect is static it can be compensated for. If you really want to mess with surveillance tech search for ‘adversarial clothing.’ For now it’s legal to wear stuff like this in most places. If you go down the rabbit hole a bit you can find some relatively cheap ways to counter surveillance.
