As president he should rather make sure that nobody in his country needs to go to a food bank. Let’s not pretend that this is normal.

I don’t know what it’s like in Czechia but in north america, it is always 2-3 times better to give cash than food. Food banks have way higher purchasing power than you do. It also gives them the ability to make sure they’re getting a good selection.

So *that’s* what a president is supposed to act like?

Shouldn’t he be changing laws or some shit to help people get food?

Damn why’s everyone trying to find how this is a bad thing. Stop trying to see the negatives in everything. This is so much better to see then the dumb orange wannabe dictator or putler or the politicians in my country who are slowly destroying the social security system. He can do both, help this way and change the laws to make access better stop acting like this is a bad thing. Also his political role is mostly representative. Like the King in the UK or the President in Germany if I understand it correctly.

Czech president having security all around him buying food for food banks as well btw. I recognize at least two of the guys in the background from the photo where he was seen at a concert.

It’s also crazy to me how he’s not being mobbed by everyone.
That’d happen anywhere in North America and half of Asia.

Am I supposed to feel like he’s a good guy or like he’s a dirtbag because he’s the President, why doesn’t he make policies so the people don’t go hungry?

I would be more amazed if he did it without a PR Team.

Food banks can buy food at lower prices than we buy at retail. If he donated money to the food banks instead it would be much more helpful but that means no gimmicky pictures!

Even if this is just a photo-op: It sends a strong message!
A president genuinely caring about his people by not letting them starve!
That’s quite exactly the opposite of what the US president is currently doing.
Even though Czechia’s economy is growing, there are still people that rely on food banks to get through the day. That’s not just the case in Czechia, people in Germany, Austria, France and everywhere else need their food and services.
Food banks are relying on donations, either through goods or basically money.
If you have a couple of Euros or Korunas to spare, your local food bank will be grateful! <3

The Czech president is buying food for his people, meanwhile the American president is asking the supreme Court for permission to starve Americans while he builds an extravagant ballroom for himself.
