    1. Having been there when it was up, watching it fall on TV and visiting a few years afterwards is a pretty cool highlight in our lives.

Remember the Peace Dividend we were all supposed to get from the end of the Cold War? Somehow, all that military spending never found its way into the pockets of everyday Americans.

And now we have push for socialism in America because the youth think the wall should have never been torn down.

Socialism was so great they had to build a wall to keep people from escaping it lol. Go socialism!

I heard Woody Harrelson went MIA on the Cheers set when this happened. He said he could not miss this historic event when it was being televised live.

I recall when JFK declared “Ich bin Berliner.” and was thrilled when the wall fell. I really wanted to share the news with my mom but sadly, she had passed the year before.

    7. My oldest memory of live TV important event, I was 7 y old and i remember watching this with my parents, did not undesrtood anything about context but it looked so important.

Saint Ronald of Reagan is rolling over in his grave with the USofA essentially abandoning Ukraine.

    9. I do not get how people who shared common values were divided because of an idea.
      They built a wall! Different.

Greatest moment in human history, alongwith the defeat of Nazi Germany.

Communism and Soviet Union died and deservingly so.

    11. I was in Bari, Italy. I was hanging out with some West German kids. They were worried about the East Germans coming into West Germany but were overall positive.

    12. I was in 8th grade thought this is it. They’ll be peace. No more nukes stuff like that. Man how wrong I was.
