Was a fry cook for LJS 20 years ago. I can smell this picture. And feel it… In the air.

Soon you will know that by its true name. Congestive heart failure.

Ooo I love the crunchies. I would always get a small paper boat full of these on the side.

When I was a kid the local chippy would give us battered bits for 25p. It’s…. No wonder I’m fat

I was so sad when the LJS near me shut down. I would always get an order of hush puppies and ask for any extra crumbs they had. I would dip the hush puppies in ketchup and then the dip them in the crumbs. It was divine. Those crumbs are addicting.

Oooooh, the nostalgia of this.

My cousin worked for LJS when I was younger and I used to absolutely love it when we would go to visit them because she would bring home a bag of the crunchy things.

Referred to as “scraps” or “bits” in Yorkshire. There is a chippy in Huddersfield called “Wi’ bits” ( with bits)
Hard-up kids used to buy bags of scraps for 5p when I were a kid

In the UK we call this scraps that a lot of people ask for when ordering fish and chips.

This is called Scraps in the UK. Salt & vinegar and a pickled egg just like Grandad enjoyed during the Blitz.

There are regular snacks, and there are sometimes snacks. This is more like a once-a-year snack. Christ, maybe one every 2 years.
