I very good childhood friend of mine, in the early 2000’s learned Japanese online by himself. Back then the internet wasn’t as easy as it was today so that was actually amazing for the time. When we turned 20 he moved to Japan and we lost contact. As far as I know he is still there. Hope he’s happy.

I mean, yeah? Why not? It’d be nice to watch and understand anime without subs! I also really love Japanese language in general, think it’s beautiful. The music, too! And yes, marry a Japanese as well~ 🥰

    3. That picture has the wrong priorities. I want to learn how to read Japanese because I like the language. Of course, anime is my main source of Japanese content, but watching anime without subtitles is an ability that I happened to pick up over the years, without really devoting a lot of time specifically to it. You can learn Japanese by watching anime WITH translated subtitles!

I don’t plan to marry in general and the work culture in Japan is pretty bad, but I might consider travelling there one day. Well…It’s true that there’s a lack of options for learning Japanese outside of Japan and doing either one of those things would give you an excuse to put actual effort into it.
