There’s generational wealth and there’s “new money” which is accrued through the underpayment of workers and tax subsidies that result in the tax contributions made by said underpaid workers going into the bank accounts of the employers that exploit them.
I’ve always hated the term “working class neighborhood.” Like the people who live in nice homes didn’t have to work for it. Maybe they are doctors and engineers instead of laborers, but they put in long hours and have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders. “Working class” sounds like something out of Dickens,
